I study &#039;post-copulatory sexual selection&#039; in social insects (mainly ants &amp;amp; bees) and try to find answers to questions such as &#039;how can a male make sure that his sperm is used to fertilize a female&#039;s egg?&#039; and &#039;how can a female keep sperm alive for 20 years stored in her abdomen?&#039;.
